What is Krok 2

Krok 2 is the clinical stage of Ukraine's licensing integrated exam, taken in the final year of study. It checks whether a future doctor, dentist or pharmacist can apply knowledge to real clinical situations.

Most Krok 2 questions are clinical cases: complaints, history, examination and lab findings. You need to make a diagnosis or choose the right investigation or treatment.

Which subjects Krok 2 covers

For Medicine, the core is internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics & gynecology, plus hygiene and social medicine. Dentistry covers operative, surgical, prosthetic and pediatric dentistry; Pharmacy covers clinical pharmacy, drug technology and pharmacy management.

How to prepare for Krok 2

Clinical cases need a way of thinking, not memorization. What helps most:

  • Take full timed Krok 2 booklets to get used to long vignettes
  • Work through the differential diagnosis for every mistake
  • Group questions by syndrome rather than by year
  • Revisit the classic clinical cases that appear every year
